About

I write science content for products in the educational publishing industry (K-12). I love conveying science concepts in a way that is relatable to students, answering the question "Why is this important to me?"

I also manage long-term projects, communicating with stakeholders, creating efficient workflows, and meeting deadlines.

I enjoy hiking, birding, and traveling. I am a regular at "The Biggest Week in American Birding" in northwestern Ohio and have seen giant tortoises and marine iguanas in the Galápagos Islands, volcanoes and geothermal springs in Hawaii, Atlantic puffins and icebergs in Newfoundland and Labrador, and colorful bogs in Maine.

My brand promise is to create a partnership with clients that results in effective communication, innovative solutions, and the highest-quality deliverables.

Experience

I have 20 years of experience as a science writer and editor, working on print and digital products in the educational publishing industry (K-12). I have developed chapter level, unit level, and course level content for life science, environmental science, earth science, and health products based on state and national standards and curriculum requirements. I use my B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Oceanography every day in my work.

For the last 10 years, I have also been managing projects in the educational publishing industry (K-12).

I have taught at both the high-school and college level, including at The Ohio State University. I am currently a student myself, working on my DBA at Franklin University.
